Employee relations · Employment tribunal · Disciplinary · Employer side A dispute with an employee: a solid file, a preserved dialogue.

A summons to the French employment tribunal (conseil de prud'hommes), a sanction to decide, a works council to inform: an executive from our team reviews the facts, organises the evidence and prepares every step with you. Your lawyer keeps control of the law; we give them a complete file.

For business leaders, managers and HR managers of small and mid-sized companies in France. Employer side only.

Situations

When the employment relationship becomes strained.

The earlier the file is taken in hand, the stronger it is, and the less the dispute costs, in money as in workplace climate.

  1. 01

    An employment tribunal summons

An employee or former employee challenges a dismissal, a sanction or overtime pay.

  2. 02

    Misconduct to sanction

Lateness, absences, insubordination, serious misconduct: act quickly, within the time limits, with no procedural error.

  3. 03

    Fragile HR practices

Verbal warnings with no written record, sanctions that differ from one department to another, missing contracts or internal rules.

  4. 04

A works council to inform and consult

A reorganisation to present, meetings to prepare, a timetable to keep.

  5. 05

    A tense workplace climate

An individual case that turns collective, a dialogue to restore with employee representatives.

Our role

A business leader's file, your lawyer's strategy.

We bring organisation, facts and field experience. The law remains the domain of your employment lawyer, with whom we work.

What we do

Facts, evidence, a timetable

  • Gather the documents: contract, amendments, payslips, schedules, time records, emails, meeting notes
  • Establish a dated, sourced chronology of the facts
  • File the documents and build the evidence table, claim by claim
  • Prepare the disciplinary procedure: steps, time limits, preliminary meeting
  • Prepare works council meetings and information, and restore dialogue with employee representatives
  • Train your managers in the right reflexes: write, date, address issues, escalate
What we don't do

Clear limits

  • We are not lawyers: legal advice, dismissal letters, pleadings and representation before the employment tribunal are for your lawyer, or an employment lawyer from our network
  • We work for employers only, never for an employee against their employer
  • We don't take sides without the facts: if the file is weak, we tell you

Matsu Conseil is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Our documents are preparation materials, to be validated by your lawyer.

Frequently asked questions

Employment tribunal, discipline, works council: your questions.

Short answers to the questions business leaders ask us most often.

Can you draft the dismissal letter?

No. We prepare the facts, the documents and the timetable, and help you prepare the preliminary meeting. The letter, like the whole legal strategy, is for your lawyer, or an employment lawyer from our network: that is your best protection.

Do you also work for employees?

No. Matsu Conseil works for employers only: business leaders, managers and HR teams of small and mid-sized companies.

I don't have an employment lawyer: what should I do?

We can put you in touch with an employment lawyer from our network and, with your agreement, pass on the file we have prepared. It saves time, for them and for you.

How long does an employee have to go to the employment tribunal?

It depends on the claim. To challenge the termination of the employment contract, the employee generally has 12 months from notification; for a claim about the performance of the contract, 2 years; for unpaid wages, 3 years (French Labour Code, articles L1471-1 and L3245-1). Your lawyer will check the time limit that applies to your case.

How much does your support cost?

Remotely and at a fixed price with Matsu Essentiel: €890 excl. VAT for an employment tribunal file, €490 excl. VAT for a disciplinary procedure. On the ground (review of HR practices, manager training, relations with the works council): on quote, €900 to €1,500 excl. VAT per day. Everything starts with a free 45-minute call.

What if relations with our works council (CSE) are deteriorating?

Rebuild the dialogue on clear foundations: a meeting schedule that is kept, written information prepared in advance, answers that are followed up. It is one of our team's strengths. We work in English as well as French.
