About SCM Publishing One company, four crafts.
SCM Publishing is a French limited company (SARL) based in Magny-en-Vexin, in the Val-d'Oise, north-west of Paris. It runs four brands: each has its own craft, audience and style, and all share the same standards.
Why four brands
Because you don't speak to everyone the same way.
A business leader going through a crisis, a small company looking for the right software, a gamer waiting for their next game and a reader watching for a novel’s release don’t expect the same things. Each deserves someone who speaks their language.
That is why each craft has its own brand: Matsu Conseil for consulting and interim management, Otaké Software for software and IT, Umé Studio for video games and Kiku Stories for books and webtoons.
Behind them stands a single company, accountable for each one.
Where our names come from
Four Japanese plants.
In Japan, the pine, the bamboo and the plum tree are the “three friends of winter”: they stay alive, or bloom, while everything else sleeps. The chrysanthemum is one of the “four gentlemen”, the plants of classical painting.
Our four brands bear their names. And in each logo, a small plant detail slips in where a letter or an accent would be.

Together, our four brands form Sakura Foundry: SCM Publishing’s foundry. A foundry is where things are shaped. There, we shape consulting, software, games and stories for you.
